The name Intrepid came to me in a sleep deprived state as a distant memory of my own father, who was killed by terrorists 25 years earlier.
“Why didn’t we get that fancy car?” I asked him, pointing to a picture of a car on the wall. He consoled me as most parents do – “Next time.” That car, long forgotten – a Dodge Intrepid.
“I wish he were here,” I thought to myself as I looked up and realized that the meaning of “intrepid” was FEARLESS. I knew I had found the perfect name and perhaps a blessing hidden away for 29 years.
Reflecting back, seeds for the fearlessness that drove me to start Intrepid were planted 25 years earlier when I moved to the United States after his passing. The years and experiences that followed made their own unique contributions to how I reflect upon the past, manage the present, and view the future.
While the uncertainty of social and economic stability continues, Intrepid, like my daughter, is growing quicker than I thought possible and every day is a new blessing.
